  • Q: How far in advance do I need to place my Shipping Order?
  • A: We ship out Monday to Friday with 1 and 2-Day transit options through FedEx. Depending on the time you place your order, we can ship it out the same day!

    High order volume and FedEx's operational schedule can affect our same-day shipping cutoff time, so if your order is for a specific date or special occasion, we highly recommend selecting an arrival date at least one or two days in advance, especially during holiday seasons. Our cupcakes stay fresh for up to 2 weeks when frozen!

  • A: Our Shipping Order minimum is $20 worth of product.
  • Q: How can I pay for my Shipping Order?
  • A: We accept credit card (Amex, MasterCard, Visa, Discover) for Shipping Orders placed over the phone with our Customer Happiness Team (212-842-0220) or on our website.

  • Q: How long will Baked by Melissa products stay fresh for while in-transit?
  • A: Our Shipping Packaging keeps our products fresh for up to 4 days!
  • Q: Are Baked by Melissa products shipped frozen?
  • A: We do not ship our products frozen, but we do ship with frozen gel packs and/or dry ice, which keep our products fresh while in transit. Depending on the destination and temperature, frozen gel packs and/or dry ice may freeze your order while it is en route to you.
  • Q: How does Baked by Melissa ship?
  • A: We ship through FedEx in custom-designed Shipping Packaging. We only offer 1 and 2 Day Transit options since we are shipping perishable goods. Cupcakes are packaged in shrink-wrapped 25 Packs, which are stacked inside a freezer bag with frozen gel packs and/or dry ice. The freezer bag and its contents is then placed inside a Baked by Melissa Shipping Box. Click here to see our Shipping Packaging>
  • Q: What should I do with my Shipping Order once it arrives?
  • A: Enjoy! If you are serving your order later, open the contents of the Shipping Box and place the 25 Packs in the freezer (for at least 30 minutes). Take them out 20- 30 minutes prior to serving to defrost.
  • Q: What cupcake quantities are available for Shipping Orders?
  • A: We can ship any increment of 25 cupcakes! We ship in increments of 25 because our standard packaging for all Shipping Orders is 25 Packs, which hold 25 cupcakes/each.

    3 Packs are also available for Shipping Orders placed over the phone with our Customer Happiness Team (212-842-0220) or on our website. 3 Packs may carry additional charges.
  • Q: Where does Baked by Melissa ship?
  • A: We ship nationwide to all states, including HI and AK.
  • Q: Does Baked by Melissa ship internationally?
  • A: We currently only ship within the U.S., but we may ship internationally one day! Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know! Sign up for our newsletter here.
  • Q: When will my Shipping Order arrive?
  • A: When you place your order, you will be prompted to choose a specific receiving date, which must fall on a Tuesday – Saturday. For special occasions, we recommend receiving at least one - two days in advance.

    As soon as your order is processed, you will receive a FedEx Tracking Number, which can be used to track your package (on FedEx.com) while it is in transit. FedEx delivers throughout the day, typically between 8am and 8pm.
  • Q: Is my arrival date guaranteed?
  • A: We are not able to guarantee arrival dates and times for Shipping Orders since we ship through FedEx as a third party. For special occasions, we recommend arrival at least one - two days early. For weekend events, we recommend arrival on Thursday. Our cupcakes stay fresh for up to 2 weeks when frozen!
  • Q: What if my Shipping Order does not arrive on the date I chose?
  • A: We guarantee our cupcakes arrive safe and fresh, but do not guarantee arrival dates and times since we ship through FedEx as a third party. If you haven’t placed your order already, we recommend receiving it at least one - two days in advance of a special occasion. If you have already placed your order, our cupcakes stay fresh for up to 2 weeks when frozen, so you can enjoy your order for many days to come!
  • Q: Do I need to be home to sign for my Shipping Order?
  • A: FedEx does not require a signature for our packages, which means that your order will be left at the arrival destination as long as the FedEx delivery person feels comfortable doing so. If the 1st Attempt is unsuccessful, a 2nd Attempt will be made as soon as FedEx can accommodate it, usually on the following business day.
  • Q: How are Baked by Melissa shipping rates calculated?
  • A: Our shipping rates are calculated based on weight, distance, and transit type. In order to calculate a shipping rate, we need to know what you want to order, where your order is being shipped, and which transit option you would like to ship with.
  • Q: What is the difference between FedEx transit types?
  • A: Transit types vary by distance, and may include Ground, Home Delivery, 2Day, Standard Overnight, Priority Overnight, or First Overnight, depending on the address. Only transit types that will allow your order to be in transit for 1-2 days will appear as options to select.

    • FedEx Home Delivery: Delivers to residential addresses by 8pm.
    • FedEx Ground: Delivers to business addresses by the end of the business day.
    • FedEx 2Day: Delivers to business addresses by 4:30pm, and residential addresses by 7pm.
    • FedEx Standard Overnight: Delivers to most addresses by 3pm.
    • FedEx Priority Overnight: Delivers to most addresses by 10:30am.
    • FedEx First Overnight: Delivers as early as 8am to most addresses.

    Please note that Baked by Melissa is unable to guarantee FedEx delivery commitment times.
  • Q: Why are Baked by Melissa shipping rates so high?
  • A: Our shipping rates are calculated based on weight, distance, and transit type, which means the more you ship and the further you ship, the higher the rate.

    We ship in custom-designed Shipping Packaging, and guarantee our products arrive safe and fresh. We only offer transit types that will allow our products to be in transit for one - two days since they are perishable.

    Orders scheduled for delivery on Tuesday may carry higher shipping rates because only 1 Day Transit options are available to choose from (We don't ship out on Saturdays or Sundays). Orders scheduled for delivery on Saturday carry a higher shipping rate because FedEx charges an additional $12.50 for Saturday delivery.
  • Q: Can I make changes to my Shipping Order?
