How to Make Your Salted Caramel Rice Krispies Treats

Making the Homemade Caramel:

  1. Add water, sugar and salt to a pot over medium heat. Stir until it comes to a boil.
  2. Once boiled, let it sit for 5-8 minutes or until caramel color.
  3. Then add heavy cream and mix until the bubbles go down.
  4. Add in butter, and stir constantly until 225ºF (Use a candy thermometer)
  5. Let it cool for 10 minutes. Pour out half of the caramel in a separate bowl (We’re going to use this to top!)

Krispie Time:

  1. Heat up caramel on the stove until it is melted down, and add the bag of marshmallows to the pot of caramel on low heat and stir until half melted.

  2. Remove from the heat and stir in Rice Krispies.
  3. Place into a lined pan and drizzle top with caramel and garnish with flaky sea salt.
  4. Let it cool and enjoy!
