Salted Caramel Apple Pie Pop Tarts Recipe

I once had this slice of Salted Caramel Apple Pie and it knocked me right off my feet. The ultimate blend of tart apples, buttery crust, and salted caramel is what inspired this recipe. I wanted to make easy, fun pies that you could eat in your hand, and salted caramel apple pie pop-tarts were born.

If you couldn’t tell by now, I love apple pie. Committing to baking a whole apple pie is a lot, which is where this recipe comes in. This recipe is unique because it is all about using the number of apples you have on hand. It’s also a great one to make with your kids. They can help with peeling the apples and rolling out the dough!

Ingredients for Salted Caramel Apple Pie Pop Tarts

  • 2 Apples of your choice 
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Cinnamon 
  • 3 tablespoons of Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of Butter
  • 1/4 cup of La Lechera or any Dulce de Leche

How to Make Your Salted Caramel Apple Pie Pop Tarts     

  1. Dice apples into small pieces.
  2. Add to a pot with lemon juice and brown sugar, add in dulce de leche and stir until combined. 
  3. Put over medium heat and add in butter and cinnamon.
  4. Cook until it is caramelized.
  5. Let it cool! 
  6. Using the pie crust, place small scoops of apples on top.
  7. Add the top layer and press into place.
  8. Using cookie cutters, make round pies and roll the edges.
  9. Bake at 350ºF for 12 minutes.
