crispy brussels sprouts

Extra crispy, extra tempting Brussels sprouts for an easy weeknight side.

Crispy Brussels Sprouts Recipe

If you grew up hating Brussels sprouts, I beg you to reconsider. Not only are these cruciferous greens extra crispy (thanks to a thin layer of flour) and flavorful, did you know that the vegetable has actually been bred by farmers to be less bitter? It’s true. And I’m not saying this recipe wouldn’t have been as delicious back in the 90s, but if less bitterness brings more Brussels sprouts fans to the table, I’m all for it.

Ingredients for Crispy Brussels Sprouts

  • 2 cups Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons flour

How to Make Crispy Brussels Sprouts

  1. Remove any loose leaves from the Brussels sprouts and trim the ends off. Cut in half lengthwise.

  2. Add them to a large bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.

  3. Add the flour and mix so everything is evenly coated.

  4. Place the Brussels sprouts directly on a baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes, until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy. Let cool slightly and serve with your favorite dipping sauce or use them to top a salad.
