TikTok Green Goddess Salad

If you’re like me and love scrolling #foodtok for hours checking out the latest food trends, you’ve probably come across my now “viral” green goddess salad. I shared this creation back in September and it's been incredible to watch you all put your own spin on it and share in the joy that is this salad.

My mission as a creator is to bring joy to every bite—just like we do at Baked by Melissa, where we make bite-size treats that make great gifts and party desserts. I still personally develop every flavor because I love the creative process so much. My food philosophy is that if you get your nourishment from mealtime, you can absolutely indulge in dessert every day—just like I do! To make creating these delicious recipes easier, I've included my favorite tools for making the Green Goddess below. For more of my favorite kitchen finds, visit my Amazon shop

To make those beautiful, confetti-size veggie chops that make the green goddess what it is, you need a good quality chef's knife. This is the one I use every day—it's worth the investment!

BUDGET OPTION: I also love this Misen knife, which at $85 is about half the price of the Shun. It's always what I recommend when people ask about a less pricey option!

Of course, you could juice your lemons by hand, but once you’ve used a good juicer you’ll never go back. I love this one because it holds the juice in the base until you're ready to pour it in, which is nice and neat thanks to the pour spout. It's such a good juicer that I've bought it twice!

I like to throw all my salad ingredients into a nice, big stainless steel mixing bowl as I go. Once you pour in the dressing, you’ll want some room to give it a good toss until everything is evenly coated. Always use a bowl bigger than you think you'll need!

Unless you're more of a mix-with-your-hands kind of person, you need a great set of tongs to get everything evenly coated. I love OXO for reliable, budget-friendly kitchen tools like this!

My blender was a big investment, but I use it literally every single day. I couldn’t live without this thing. I know there are other great options out there, but my husband researched a TON of blender options before we landed on this commercial-grade blender and we've been happy with it for years.

BUDGET OPTION: If you're not planning to use your blender as much as I do, this Nutribullet ($119.99) is a great option with a smaller footprint. We have one at the office for cooking demos, and I have one at home for smoothies.

Last but certainly not least: this salad dressing’s secret weapon, nutritional yeast (yes, I realize it's not a tool). People ask me why I use nutritional yeast—affectionately, nooch—all the time. It gives whatever you add it to (popcorn, miso vinaigrette) a cheesy flavor and creaminess, in addition to a boost of Vitamin B. There are many brands you can get at most grocery stores (I like Braggs and Bob's Red Mill), but because I go through so much of it, I've started stocking up on Amazon.
