You’ve seen my magic sauces before—like this magic tomato sauce and this tomato-based magic meat sauce. Magic sauces got their name because they make it so easy for moms to feed nourishing, delicious meals to picky kids, who if they’re anything like my youngest, shy away from any sauce with “thingys” (ie, onions, carrots, tomatoes). The resulting sauces are ultra smooth, flavor-packed, and filled with good-for-them ingredients that they won’t even realize are there as they eagerly slurp it all up. Instead of the typical tomato base, this recipe uses sweet paprika for color and can simmer on the stove all day long (so it’s great to start while working from home). Serve it with their favorite pasta shape or rice for an easy dinner everyone will love.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 onion, cut in half
- 5 garlic cloves
- 1 1/2 cups beef bone broth
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
Directions
- Heat a large frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the beef to the pan and break it up with a wooden spoon. Stir in the salt.
- In a blender, add the bone broth, onion, and garlic and pulse until smooth.
- Once the meat has mostly browned, add the sweet paprika to the pan and cook for about 1 minute, until aromatic.
- Pour the bone broth mix into the pan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover the pan and lower the heat. Simmer for at least 30 minutes, up to 2-3 hours so all the flavors combine and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
