My Favorite Kitchen Tool Recommendations

By Melissa Ben-Ishay

I'm asked every day what knife I use, what pans have a permanent spot on my stove, and what kitchen tools I can't live without. Consider this my comprehensive list of kitchen recommendations—products I genuinely use and love. Some are investments (knives, pots, pans), and others are tools that will make navigating the kitchen so much easier. I hope you love them as much as I do.

My Top Kitchen Recommendations

I’m a firm believer in only having the tools you need and use (yes, this means I don’t like little gadgets that can do exactly one thing—they take up valuable space!). Here are the tools I use again and again, and would recommend for any home cook to keep in their kitchen. Having the right tools on hand can make cooking much faster and enjoyable.

Tools like the cutting board, knives, and pans are great gifts for newlyweds, recent grads, housewarmings, and anyone who wants to invest more in their kitchen. They're a higher price point, but will last forever when you take care of them.

Knife Recommendations

Tip: To keep your knives working well (and to cook safely), make sure to keep your tools sharp. You can often find knife sharpeners at the farmer's market or local kitchen stores like Williams Sonoma or Crate & Barrel.
