Every Thanksgiving for the past four years, we’ve partnered with City Harvest to support them in the fight against hunger. This year, for every Give Thanks 25-Pack sold, Baked by Melissa will donate $1 to City Harvest, helping to feed two New Yorkers in need for a day.
City Harvest is New York’s first and largest food rescue organization, helping to feed millions of New Yorkers who struggle to put meals on their tables. For forty years, City Harvest has rescued more than one billion pounds of fresh, nutritious food and delivered it—free of charge—to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens, and community partners across New York City. The organization finds a practical purpose for the abundance of uneaten food in New York City, in turn helping feed the nearly 1.5 million New Yorkers who face food insecurity every day. Every Mother Counts is a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. In support of the amazing efforts of Every Mother Counts, we teamed up to create the EMC Dulce de Leche cupcake as 2009 May’s Mini of the Month! We donated to Every Mother Counts 10¢ for every EMC Dulce de Leche cupcake sold.
