mother's day gift guide

Celebrate all of the supermoms in your life with Melissa’s gift guide for moms who love to cook, travel, garden, and more.

When I became a mom, I developed a whole new appreciation for just how hard moms work every day. To celebrate all the supermoms and other mother figures in your life (and inspire your gift shopping), I’ve compiled my favorite items for giving and receiving. For those of you in NYC, come see us on Friday, May 6 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at our store in the Fashion District for a free bouquet from our friends at Forget Me Knots with all purchases over $44—the perfect final touch for any gift. We can’t wait to see you there!

For the mom who loves to cook

I can never get enough new tools and gadgets that make cooking for my family easier and more enjoyable. Here are a few of my most beloved cooking tools:

Boos Block

A high-quality, super durable cutting block makes chopping, dicing, and slicing a breeze. I actually got this for my husband for his birthday, but I ended up using it constantly. Love those kinds of gifts ;)

GreenPan Set

There’s nothing that makes me happier than a matching kitchen set. GreenPan makes ultra-durable nonstick ceramic pots and pans that I love so much that I have a set at the Baked by Melissa office and at home.

Le Creuset Dutch Oven

A gorgeous addition to any kitchen, and a must-have if your mom loves soup as much as I do.

Shun Utility Knife

I promise this is the only knife you ever need. It’s my number one recommendation whenever anyone asks how I create the perfect chop.

For the mom with a sweet tooth

Mother’s Day Cupcakes

If you’re far from the moms in your life, we make it easy for you. This year’s limited edition Mother’s Day box is stunning (it even comes with a matching card!). I also love gifting subscriptions so all the moms in my life always have dessert waiting for them at the end of the day.

From April 5 to May 13, we’re donating $5 from every Mother’s Day collection purchase to BabyQuest, an incredible nonprofit that supports hopeful parents. Truly the sweetest gift of all!

Lululemon New Crew Backpack

This backpack can seriously hold so much for the entire family and is water-repellent, a must for me on any adventure.

Customized Yeti

Stay hydrated and look cute doing it. I love the personal engravings on the Yeti website, which let you create a custom bottle for your “superwoman.”

Hoka Bondi Shoes

These shoes are just SO comfortable and durable. As soon as I saw the new rainbow embroidery, I had to have them.

Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag Extended Strap

Available in six colors, this super cute crossbody makes it easy to hold important necessities (and it’s even easier to find them).

For the mom who loves to craft

Thinking of fun activities that I can do with my kids is definitely a fun way to spend the weekend, but I also find crafting super relaxing on my own, as well. Here are a few of my favorite colorful ways to decompress:

Mindfulness Coloring Book

Go ahead, borrow your kid’s crayons. After a long day, sometimes it’s nice to create a rainbow inside the lines.

Custom Photo Puzzle

If you can sacrifice a table on a rainy Saturday afternoon, I highly recommend a custom photo puzzle with your favorite picture of the whole family. It’s an activity everyone can enjoy.

For the mom who loves to travel

Is it just me, or do all moms feel like they just have so much more to pack now? (And, therefore, remember!) Here are a few of my traveling favorites to keep flights and drives pain-free:

Monos Carry-on Suitcase

I am obsessed with my Monos carry-on. It’s super easy to wheel and fits everything I need, so I don’t have to deal with the hassle of checked bags.

Dagne Dover The Landon Carryall

Perfect for a weekend trip or as a carry-on, I love that I can fit my work laptop and so much more in this ultra-light bag.

Travel Jewelry Organizer

This is great for avoiding tangled and keeping valuables safe while you travel.

Travel Toiletry Bag

Keeping everything organized and in one place helps me make sure I have everything I need, no matter how long I’m away from home.

For the mom who loves to garden

I love to grow my own herbs and sprouts to add extra flavor and crunch to salads. There is just something so satisfying about planting my own food and watching it grow!

A good book on gardening

This is the perfect coffee table book for novices and pros alike, and is filled with great tips!

A bag with all the tools you need

These just make it so easy to grow any plant of your dreams. (I’d love to have a whole garden dedicated to my favorite salad toppings.)

Roses

Forget a bouquet that will die in a few days—give your mom a bush of roses that she can watch grow year after year.

For the mom who loves athleisure

My all-time favorite outfit for visiting the bakery or doing a few minutes of yoga at the end of the day is leggings, a tie-dye shirt, and maybe a hoodie on colder days. Here are my must-haves:

Lululemon Swiftly Tech Shirt

I love how lightweight and breathable these shirts are for days when I’m on the go.

Lululemon Align Leggings

So soft and cozy for any and all activities.

Tie-Dye Headbands

Add a fast pop of color to any outfit.

For the mom who loves pampering

Sure, you could give a gift certificate to a spa, but bringing the spa home just makes it so much more relaxing.

Boulangerie Jar Candle

With five delicious candle scents, making your home smell like a bakery has never been easier.

Gua Sha

I discovered these on TikTok, and the results are totally mesmerizing.

Bubble Bath

A long soak with fluffy suds is sometimes exactly what you need once the kids are asleep.

For the working mom

We working moms are queens of multitasking and efficiency. The number one thing we just can’t get enough of? Time.

Coupons

Create custom coupons to give your supermom a break. Some ideas to get you started: I will clean the house for you, I will take care of dinner one night a week for eternity, I will do bedtime one night a week for eternity, etc. These cards make them easy (and cute!) to create.

AirPods

I love how easy AirPods make it to take calls or listen to podcasts while multitasking (and chopping!).

Apple Watch

I am all for anything that can make my life easier, more streamlined, and better yet, on my wrist.

For the new mom

When I was a new mom, it was a challenge to get any time to myself or escape for a date night. In addition to gift certificates to her favorite restaurant or an afternoon of pampering, here’s what I love to gift new moms:

Nice Wine Glasses

Making a toast to the moms in your life is so much more festive with really nice wine glasses.

New Baby Cupcakes

Available in blue, pink, and even with a celebratory tie-dye onesie, these cupcake assortments celebrate the newest mini of the month in your life (and give new moms something sweet to snack on).

A very happy Mother’s Day to all you supermoms out there! You’re amazing.
