Have you ever taken a bite into one of those cookies, where the middle is stuffed with ooey gooey goodness and wonder how it got there? Well today’s your lucky day because I’m going to show you how to step your cookie game up with this nifty little hack. Gone are the days of one dimensional cookies, overstuffed cookies are the way of the future!

What You Will Need

To get started you will need an ice cream scooper, your favorite cookie dough, and what you would like to stuff inside. Check out our Baked by Melissa Blog if you are looking for some of my favorite cookie recipes. Don’t forget you can top your cookies before you place them in the oven with candy or sprinkles for an additional treat.

To Stuff Cookie Dough with a Filling:

To stuff cookies with a filling such as peanut butter, nutella, or even cheesecake batter you will need to create a dollop of goodness.

  1. Line a pan with parchment paper.
  2. Using your ice cream scooper, drop around a tablespoon of filling onto the pan for as many cookies your recipe makes.
  3. Place in the freezer for 1-2 hours until it is completely frozen.

Now comes the fun part!

  1. Grab your ice cream scooper again and fill it up to the top with cookie dough.
  2. Take the frozen filling and push it down in the center of the dough.
  3. It will start to overflow, so take the outer part of the dough and cover the center until the filling is completely covered.
  4. Place the cookie dough back onto the pan and bake for appropriate recipe time.

To Stuff Cookie Dough with Treats:

The other way to stuff cookies is with a treat, such as chocolate candy or Oreo cookies. It is super easy to make, and the end results are delicious.

  1. Grab an ice cream scoop and fill it up to the top with your favorite cookie dough.
  2. Take the chocolate candy or cookies of your choice and place in the center by pushing down.
  3. It will start to overflow, so take the outer part of the dough and cover the center until the filling is covered completely.
  4. Place the cookie dough back onto the pan and bake for appropriate recipe time.
