smoothie bowl

A creamy, delicious smoothie packed with berries and lots of flavor.

Birthday Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Fun fact: I only ever eat blueberries frozen in smoothies. This is an incredibly adaptable recipe that you can make with any frozen berries you have in your freezer, or use fresh summer blueberries and a little ice instead to make the most of your produce haul. You can also swap out the tahini for any nut butter of your choice; I like to use it because it adds a rich, nutty flavor and extra creaminess.

Serves 3-4

Ingredients for Birthday Smoothie Bowl

  • 3 bananas

  • ¼ cup frozen strawberries

  • 2 cups frozen blueberries

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla paste

  • ¼ cup tahini

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup water

To garnish

  • 1 banana, sliced

  • 4 strawberries, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon desiccated coconut

  • 2 tablespoons blueberries

  • 2 tablespoons good stuff granola

How to Make Birthday Smoothie Bowl

  1. Add the bananas, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, vanilla, tahini, salt, and water to a blender and pulse until smooth.

  2. Pour the smoothie into 3-4 bowls and place in the freezer to set until you’re almost ready to serve.

  3. When you’re ready to serve, remove the smoothies from the freezer and garnish with banana slices, strawberries, coconut, blueberries, and granola.
